Solano Serenity Center
Solano Serenity Center was founded in 2012 by four friends; Jeriann Guzman, Melissa Mendoza, Patrick Mauk and Emma Vallejo.
The idea was to create a “safe haven for those that identify as LGBTQIA2S+.”
We are an all-volunteer run organization whose guiding principle is that we are stronger together. Our volunteers are made up of people from all walks of life, and all gender identities.

The goal of the Louise Lawrence Transgender Archive (LLTA or simply Louise) is to increase the understanding of transgender people and encourage new scholarship by making transgender historical materials available to students, scholars and the public. Click here to learn more.

Faith in Action Solano
Faith in Action provides non-acute, non-medical support services to homebound seniors by matching them with trained volunteers or by linking them to other resources.
The assistance provided by our network of volunteers through our caregiving programs is intended to help improve the quality of life for those whom we serve. We hope to help our care receivers in remaining independent and in their homes, as well as maintaining a connection to their local community. Faith in Action: Interfaith Volunteer Caregivers of Solano County has advocated for and provided assistance to the senior community since 1998.

What an incredible day! The 5th Annual Pride in the Park 2025 event was a beautiful celebration of love, solidarity, and community. Thank you to everyone who showed up, stood proud, and shared in the joy — your energy made it unforgettable!
From the inspiring speakers and dazzling performances to the rainbow-filled dance off and heartfelt conversations, this event reminded us just how powerful it is to live authentically and support one another.

GVRD Host Mothly Senior Social Event for People Ages 55+. From the organizers: Join us for a fun and relaxed morning of socializing, coffee, and light activities! Our Senior Social takes place once a month on the second Wednesday, from 8:30 to 10:30 AM. Enjoy a warm cup of coffee, delicious pastries, and a variety of puzzles and games while meeting new friends. It’s a wonderful way to start your day and make new connections in a welcoming environment. Best of all, it’s completely free! We hope to see you there! Coffee is sponsored by a local Starbucks, pastries from local businesses, and games and puzzles are provided by GVRD.

Every year BAQWA produces an anthology of members’ writing as a benefit for a Bay Area Queer charity
This year proceeds from sales of TOGETHER, the 2024-25 benefit anthology, go to the Solano County Pride Center, which provides support for LGBTQ+ people in the county, offers free HIV testing, and creates Queer Pride events in cities across the county. We hope BAQWA members will come read from the anthology at future SPC events, including the Holiday Dinner. If you’d like to order the book online, the proceeds also help fund our important work here. Thanks to Richard May who had them available at the Holiday Dinner to sell copies!

LGBTQ Connection Napa & Sonoma
LGBTQ Connection, an initiative fueled by youth and other emerging leadership, fosters a healthier, more vibrantly diverse and inclusive community. Each year, LGBTQ Connection engages 3,500 LGBTQ people, their families and community, and trains 500 providers from local organizations across Northern California to increase the safety, visibility and well being of LGBTQ residents. In Napa and Sonoma Counties the program operates local LGBTQ community centers, supporting underserved LGBTQ youth and elders. The Napa and Sonoma offices of LGBTQ Connection each provide a safe and trusted space to cultivate hubs of vibrant activities and caring community.

- Trump Admin Reverses Harmful Cut, Restores Maine’s Education Funds After Anti-Trans Athlete Ban: The Trump administration has agreed to restore federal funding for education programs in Maine, ending a freeze sparked by the president’s opposition to the state’s policies on transgender athletes.
- California Reaffirms Full Coverage of Life-saving Healthcare Under Medi-Cal Amid Federal Attacks: The California Department of Healthcare Services (DHCS) published new guidance reaffirming that all medically necessary gender-affirming care services for Medi-Cal members are covered and Medi-Cal’s policies have not changed–depsite escalating federal attacks on transgender healthcare.
