How to Help Support our Senior Lunches!

This is a special and urgent plea to help fund our Senior Luncheon Program at Solano Pride Center.
With the uncertainty of continued funding for LGBTQAI+ programs as well as the future of Medicare and Social Security, our seniors need a solid rock on which to cling
Since 2017, our Senior bi-weekly Luncheon Program has been that rock.
Seniors 60+ receive a well-balanced and nutritional lunch from local markets and, whenever possible, local restaurants. The luncheon not only provides food for the body but a space for folks to connect with friends. Additionally, we provide timely topics such as: Fall Prevention tips, How to Avoid Scams, Disaster Preparedness, Pet Care, Accessing CalFresh, Use of Pronouns and Why They Matter, the Representation of Older Adults in the media, and many more.
Due to rising prices, our capacity to deliver high-quality meals is being impacted. Seven years ago, we spent approximately $10 per senior; currently, the cost is between $15 and $20. This represents an annual increase of between $2,500 and $3500. Our funders can only cover about 60% of that cost. This is why we are asking you to help us.
A monthly contribution of $50.00 will help pay for meals for 3 seniors, $100 per month will pay for 6 meals. We will list sponsors to this program on our Website.
Solano Pride Center is a 501 (c) 3 non-profit. Donations can be made via Paypal (@SolanoPride), Zeffy (https://www.zeffy.com/en-US/donation-form/keeping-solano-pride-centers-senior-lunch-program-alive) of by check payable to Solano Pride Center.
In this time of uncertainty and loss of services, thank you for your caring and support.

Gen Silent and Cultural Competency Training for those serve LGBTQ+ Seniors
Wednesday, September 10th from 8:30 am to noon. (Joseph A Nelson Community Center, 611 Village Dr, Suisun City) register at this link. Seniors in the LGBTQIA2S+ community are encouraged to attend.
Our older adult LGBTQ+ community fought the first battles for equality and are now facing fear of discrimination, bullying and abuse that many are choosing to hide their lives to survive. People are afraid to ask for the help they need. We must call it out and bring attention and awareness to this paradigm to support our elders from being hurt or silenced.
Join us for a robust discussion and brainstorming session to support our Solano County seniors!
