Solano Pride Launches Needs Assessment Survey-Seeks Participants in Focus Groups

Solano Pride, the oldest LGBTQ organization in Solano County, is beginning a year-long process to determine pressing needs within the LGBTQ community. The project will include both surveys and a series of focus groups designed to help the organization quantify needed services within the queer community of the county. The project is funded by Solano County and undertaken in conjunction with the Rainbow Center of Walnut Creek.

“Solano Pride is excited to launch this important needs assessment”, said board chair Dave Janis-Kitzmiller. “We hope that members of the LGBTQ communities of Solano County will assist us by participating in one of the focus groups which begin in November.”

The organization is planning to hold seven focus groups in November both at their offices in Fairfield and in Vallejo. Community members interested in participating should contact Solano Pride’s Managing Director, Rebecca Nord at rebecca@solanopride.org or 707-398-3463.

“There are a multitude of services LGBTQ people in Solano County need. This project will assist us in quantifying and addressing those needs”, said Managing Director Nord. “This is just the beginning.”
